This survey was designed to study the life circumstances and well-being of professional musicians and composers. The goal was to learn how different aspects of being a musician relate to overall well-being and life satisfaction. The survey was limited to people who earn most of their income as a musician or were working toward earning most of their income as a musician. The questionnaire covers work satisfaction, time use, sources of income, and health and well-being. The survey comprises completed online interviews conducted between April 12 and June 2, 2018 with 1,227 musicians and composers.
